| How do I determine the cost of producing your custom track? |
Years of experience have taught me how to listen to an original
song and break it down into 3 categories to determine how much it
will cost you.
1. The length of your song
2. How many instruments need to be transcribed and recorded
3. Complexity
1. LENGTH OF SONG
A typical pop smooth jazz song runs anywhere from 4 to 6
minutes maximum. However, some songs run longer and some
much shorter, especially in genres like country and pop. (Yes,
we create tracks for those genres too)
2. HOW MANY INSTRUMENTS REQUIRED
When I review your songs we listen carefully to it and list the
dominant instruments. That is what I call the instrument
break down. If there are certain instruments you do not require
the price of the custom production is lowered to reflect that.
3. Complexity
This one is easy to describe. Imagine how long it would take to
create a track of any song by Mozart... Some songs are really
quite simple and easy to produce. Others are more
complicated. The more complicated, the more time it takes to
produce. That adds to the cost.
A typical 4 to 5 minute smooth jazz song will cost on the average of
$25 to $35 per instrument. All you have to do is listen to your
original, pick the essential instruments you want on your backing
track and multiply by $25 to $35 per instrument. If it is a very simple
song it could be less. If it's highly complex it could be more.
The only way for us to determine cost is for you to submit your
song request/s in the form below. I usually respond within 24hrs.
